Malachy Prophecy on the Last Pope

Interpretation of the mottos has relied on finding connections between the mottos and the Popes' birthplaces, their personal arms and events of their pontificates. The translation of the last motto varries. Some translate it starting with "In the final persecution or In extreme persecution and In the extreme of time". There is also inconsistency in the middle part as some write "during which while others write after which". One translation can be: In the final/extreme persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will reign Peter the Roman who will feed his sheep through many tribulations, at the term of which/during which the city of the seven hills will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge his people.
